My name is April Diehl. I will be teaching your child Life or Physical Science. Below I would like to tell you about my beliefs in education.
Students have a want and a need to learn and they do this best by a hands-on approach. I believe active teaching encourages active learning. Teaching young minds is a serious task to me. It is full of challenges, frustrations, and of course responsibilities. However, it is a task that is also full of excitement, wonder, and joy. I strongly believe that all children are capable of learning, if they have the proper motivation and direction from their teachers. As your child’s teacher I need to be aware of learning, motivation, behavior, and development theories in order to relate to my students and push them to reach their full potential. It is my duty to see that all my students are being motivated which is what each child will get from me. They deserve my time and full attention in regards to their education. Classroom management and well-planned out lessons that have meaningful activities designed to enhance the student’s knowledge and skills is a great way to engage the students and have them wanting more. It is important to me that my students, as well as their parents, other teachers, administrators, and people in the community, see me as someone they can approach, who will be fair and nondiscriminatory. I also believe that high energy levels and a positive attitude from the teacher are key elements to a successful learning environment.
Thank you and if you need anything at all please feel free to contact me.
