Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS) are the foundation for the course. All of the 7th grade CCGPS will be taught in these courses.

In Grade 7, instructional time should focus on four critical areas: (1) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; (3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume, and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on samples.

Homework

Homework may not be assigned every night but students should review notes and study new material as needed.  Sometimes students may not finish classwork that was started in class and thus it becomes homework to finish on their own.

Supplies:

Students need paper and pencil to take notes with and a binder or folder to place their math notes in to keep organized.

Behavior and Expectations:

Students are expected to follow all school and MCSD rules.  They should show respect for everyone’s ideas and help create an environment of sharing in the classroom.  It is expected that all students will work hard to complete assignments and stay focused in class.

Absences:

Students are expected to make up missed work when they return to school.

Help Sessions:

If students need extra help they may ask to see me in the mornings before school.  Students must get a pass from me showing that they have permission to come to me the morning of help session.

I have read and understand the 2018/2019 Course Syllabus. Any questions will be addressed with the teacher.
