Dear Parents

Welcome to eighth grade English/Language Arts! I believe that every student should be given their best chance at success. I agree with Albert Einstein when he quoted, "Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school." I desire for all students to attain the necessary tools to learn in a way that makes them want to remember, which means having fun while learning. Our goal is to have students want to learn and to become self-dependent within their learning. With the tools provided, every goal set will be met.
My teaching philosophy is the same as my coaching philosophy, and that is "Teamwork makes the Dream work, but a vision becomes a nightmare when the leader has a big dream and a bad team" (John C. Maxwell). With the team effort of the parents, students, myself as well as my educational peers, our team is destined for greatness. With the communication between our team, each student will have the resources available to them to be better equipped for their lessons and assessments.
In our class, we will embark in rich, classroom discussions, group work, as well as independent studies. Each student will be held accountable for their participation. I will do more than my best to prepare your children for their educational futures. We will continue to study skills in reading, writing, and speaking. We follow the Georgia Standards of Excellence, which aligns our curriculum with the skills needed to master and accomplish our goals!

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to working with your child this year!
