Your Math Grade

Homework (35%) and Tests (65%)

Homework is given often to help you practice.  Math is like music.  You have to practice math to be good at it.  Your homework will account for 35% of your grade.  Your tests are 65% of your grade.  If you do your homework (practice), you should do very well on your tests.

Your homework assignments will be posted in Canvas.  They will have due dates.  Please complete your assignments by their due dates.

Tests are most always given on Friday after a week of instruction.  If you are absent for a test, please contact me so that I can make arrangements for you to make it up.

Late or missing work

If you don't complete your homework by the due date, there is a 7 calendar date (not school days) grace period where you can makeup your work for full credit.  At the end of the grace period, the assignment will close in Canvas.  Once the assignment closes in Canvas, it will not be reopened and can no longer be made up.  A zero will be placed on the grade book and cannot be made up until the end of the 9 week period.

A replacement grade for all of your zeros will come from your 9 weeks test grade.  Your grade, up to 70 points of the 9 weeks test grade, will be used to replace zero's on the grade book at the end of the 9 week period.

For example:

If you make a 100 on your 9 weeks test, your zero's will be replaced with a 70.

If you make an 89, your zero's will be replaced with a 70.

If you make a 54, your zeros will be replaced with the 54.

If you make a 69, your zeros will be replaced with a 69.

Please do your best to keep up with your assignments and due dates.
