Veterans Memorial Middle School
Sixth Grade Advanced Earth Science
Welcome: I am so excited to begin a new school year with your student. My goal this year is to help your student foster a love for science.
Class Preparation: Students need to have a charged Chromebook, paper, pencil, dry erase marker, notebook and prior work daily. A personal pair of headphones are needed.
Canvas Page: Lessons can be found under weekly assignments on my canvas page in date order. I will send announcements through canvas announcing major deadlines.
AI4GA: Artificial Intelligence Curriculum for Georgia Middle Schools will be incorporated in this class this year. I will be sending out an email with links giving you more information about this program and for paperwork I need to be completed.
Expectations for class: Everyone has the right to, and should expect to, learn.
Each individual is worthy of respect.
Thinking critically and asking questions creates problem solvers!
- Please turn work in on time. Late work will be accepted at the teacher’s discretion, most assignments may not be turned in late. Late work that is accepted will be awarded reduced credit. If there are extenuating circumstances, please let me know. It is my goal to help your student to be successful.
- It is the student’s responsibility to check the canvas page for deadlines and missed notes. I will also have test dates and deadlines written on the board in class.
- Missed work due to an absence: Full credit will be awarded for work made up due to an absence. This work must be completed in a timely manner per the school handbook. If you have been, absent for an extended period, please email me and I will work out a timeline to get you caught up.
