Course Introduction

English Language Arts is a course that deals with five domains:
1. Writing
2. Reading
3. Speaking
4. Listening
5. Viewing

I call them my "High Five". We will focus on the standards associated with these domains on a weekly basis.  I have found that keeping these elements in a constant rotation helps students to understand how connected they are. On any given day, a child may be asked to view or read material, speak about that experience with a partner, listen to their partner's response,  and then write a final response (using correct grammar of course). Though each component may not receive a recorded grade, they all work together to create students who are able to receive, connect to, process, and respond to literature/text.

Blogging!

Students will be asked to Blog on a weekly basis.  This is in response to the Georgia State Standard which states:
ELAGSE6W6-Use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others.  Each Blog will be centered around a lesson that was or is currently being taught in the classroom.
