Class Grade Determination

Grades are ways for teachers, parents and students to monitor how well students are doing in class. Classroom assignments are weighted as follows

  • Class work 20%,
  • Homework 10%,
  • Tests 40%
  • Quizzes 30%
  • Class work includes: Smart Start, Worksheets, hands-on activities, textbook work, and other classroom activities.

 

Graphing calculator:

Desmos is a great graphing calculator app that you may download on your smart phone. It's free and very user friendly!

 

Lesson Resources:

 

Most of your lessons and practice will come from your online textbook fromHolt McDougal 

You may get access from this online resource to see video examples, do virtual practice, and online quiz to prepare you for actual quiz/tests. This is a great tool that you want to take advantage of.

Homework:  Students will are given their weekly Homework on Monday. This will include the homework assignments for Monday – Thursday nights.  Homework will be checked at the beginning of class each day (Tuesday-Friday).  Students will complete the “My Progress” portion each day after reviewing the correct answers. PARENTS- Please check this weekly, regarding additional needs for your child. 

 

Homework Grades:  A 100% will be entered into the gradebook at the beginning of each nine weeks. Five points will be deducted for every homework assignment not completed. All work must be shown to receive credit.

 

Smart Starts:  Smart Starts will be worked at the beginning of each period. Students Must ACTIVELY work these.
