Newscast Presentations
Storm Note Sheet
February 15th
This will be done in class today using the books on the desks.
February 13th
Students will be assigned to a storm group to create a newscast with their group.
They must research their assigned storms, fill in the note sheet for their storm and write the script for a newscast. They will make up the town for the event to happen. They must include all of the information from their notes section in the newscast. They may add in an anchor and sports section. Each person must have an approximate equal speaking part in the newscast and is responsible for writing their own portion of the script. Each student will turn in their portion of the script after the students perform the newscast for the class. Students need to have a visual to project on the smartboard during their presentation. They must email me the link or bring it in on a flash drive ahead of time so I can have it ready to go on presentation day.
Examples of segments for the newscast include but are not limited to:

Safety tips for this kind of storm.
Damage caused by this storm or one like it.
Anchor person to introduce the weather report.

All experiments for science fair should have begun. Please make sure that you have written your hypothesis before you begin the experiment. You need to base your hypothesis on research.
All sections of the paper except data, conclusion and analysis should be done or almost done at this time. I have been reminding students to put their information into their paper since mid September.

The password to Galileo is briskly. The link from the handout is no longer working. Students need to go to the muscogee county school district site. Click the students and families tab. Under useful links they will find Galileo as an option, click it.
We went over how to use Galileo in class today and how to cite their sources for their bibliography page.
http://www.citationmachine.net/mla/cite-a-website/manual is a link to an online MLA citation maker. They can just fill in the information that they have in the boxes and then click create citation. They just need to copy and paste this citation into their bibliography page. Remember citations should be in alphabetical order.
