Welcome to Mrs. Di Pietro's Kindergarten Class!
*New: Parents, in your child’s folder there will be a calendar that Mrs. Singer will mark what color your child lands on each day. *It is your job to initial by each day and discuss your child’s behavior with them especially if they land on yellow, orange or red.* This is going to be implemented because it is a concrete way for students to see how their day is going, and they will have opportunities to move up and down throughout the day depending on their choices. I am going to continue to use ClassDojo for communication and class wide compliments but this calendar is very important! It also shows me which parents are reading folders each night.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Mrs. Di Pietro, and I will be your child’s Kindergarten grade teacher this year. I am excited to get to know your child throughout the year. We will have a fun year and learn a lot! You can support your child’s academic goals by practicing the alphabet and letter sounds, counting, and reading to them each day.
I will be using ClassDojo to communicate with you. I am sending home instructions on how to set-up your account. Once you have an account, you will be able to see points your student earns for their behavior and send messages to me from the website or app. The first few weeks the students will be learning school and classroom rules and expectations.
Homework will be sent home in student’s homework folders every Friday. Homework will be due the following Friday. I would like for you to be near as your child works independently on homework. Please work with your child on sight words and read nightly. It really makes a difference!
Our class could always use volunteers and donations throughout the year. If you are interested in volunteering in our classroom please let me know immediately and I will get a schedule.
